Due to the present situation, the Coronavirus has continued to spread throughout many parts of the world. Even though Thailand has been closely monitoring the situation and there have been no reported cases from local transmission. Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) therefore, decided to officially postpone the 66th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair. The 66th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair will be organized during 23-27 February 2021 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani.
In order to ensure continuity of gems and jewelry trade fair advertisement, enhance trade channel and increase capacity of Thai gems and jewelry industry, DITP, therefore, decided to expand trade channel via online as “BGJF Special Edition - On Ground to Online Exhibition”, scheduled to be held during 2-4 November 2020. This platform will allow buyers and sellers who are interested in visiting Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair to trade online as if joining physical fair trade. Approximately 600 Thai and foreign companies are expected to join the event. In addition, participants can attend the side event seminar on issues related to the gem and jewelry industry as well as participating in business matching activity via chat, call and video call on highly secured system in parallel to the main event or make an advance appointment for trade negotiation. This will create opportunities to conduct gems and jewelry business through online channels in the New Normal era which travelling is an obstacle for exporting Thai gems and jewelry.
The online opening ceremony will take place on Monday, November 2, 2020. During the three-day event, there will be a number of interesting events that interested parties in gems and jewelry industry can gain more knowledge on new trend and exchange ideas with experts as well as building a network within the platform in the meanwhile of real time trade negotiations.
